Does Islam have a monopoly on the truth?

I have read huge amounts of opinion and arguments from
both sides yet one thing seems to stand out.

Why do Muslims never admit any kind of wrongdoing on their
part?

The West has its critics, opposition to war, those that
support the Palestinians, conspiracy theorists etc... Far
from being perfect, most of us here in the West at least
ADMIT to our faults, debate and do our best to better
society despite its many flaws.
(Some Muslims view this as a weakness. That may be the
heart of the issue. But that is another topic...)

Nowhere have I seen such discussion among Muslims. All I
see is a constant tirade against the West (esp. America),
talk of Zionist conspiracies (the West allows Muslims to
freely live, work and set-up their Mosques - can we say
the same of Muslim countries???) and an overall tone of
belligerence.

The West does not claim to have a monopoly on the truth.
Does Islam?
